Located at an altitude of 6,461m/21,190ft, Mera Peak Summit is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. Spring and Autumn seasons being the best season to climb this mountain, you will be awe-struck by the most astonishing views of the Himalayan summit and its lavishing views of five of the 8,000 meter above mountains that includes Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Kanchenjunga. We will not only pass through the beautiful quest to Nepalese wilderness but also pass through quaint villages which will give us a glimpse into the rich culture of the locals.
It is one of the most excellent climbing options for everyone with reasonable mountaineering experience. With a rising elevations of the peak we need to have technical skills about mountaineering and it is one of the basic skills. Our Sherpa will provide you the basics of mountaineering and acclimatization knowledge through-out your journey.
After arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by one of our airport representatives. He will help you get transferred to your Hotel. There are no planned activities for the day. You will check-in to your Hotel and relax.
After having an early breakfast we will fly to Lukla Airport from Kathmandu and it will take us around 40 minutes to reach Lukla. We will start our trek to onward and head down from Lukla towards the jungle and to Surkhe. We will walk ahead and reach Pakhapani and continue our journey towards traditional villages and jungle until we reach the beautiful settlement of Paiya. We will be able to witness some non popular summit peaks Knogde Ri, Khatang, Tang Ragi Tu and other peaks from Paiya.
Today, we will head further down and cross the bridge and land into the slippery trail of Kari La Pass. After crossing the Kari La Pass, we will reach a village and rest for a while. After having our lunch, we will walk through the narrow trail of rhododendron and bamboo forest and reach Pangkongama. Pangkongma is one of the trading villages of Lukla region with amazing traditions and cultural blend influenced from Tibet.
Today we will trek to Chetar Khola via Shibuche. We will pass through rocky and into rhododendron forest and ridges, and teahouses toward the steep slopes and narrow mountain trails. Crossing over the rhododendron and bamboo forest and crossing the landslide, we will pass through clear streams of Chetakhola.
Today we will walk toward the north of Mera Peak and cross over Majang Khola. Passin over one after another river beds, we will trail alongs the Hinku River and head straight towards Tashing Ongma and cross the bridge of Sanu Khola to reach Kothe.
Today we will be elevating to a higher altitude. Trekking through the ridge of the Hinku Khola situated as a shadow of Mera Peak, we will pass through Gondishung. Gondishung is the herders' settlement situated in the west bank of Hinku Drangka. We will trek through s a 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa and a short walk will lead us to Thaknak. Thaknak is a summer grazing area with primitive amenities.
Today, we will have a rest day. It is called acclimatization day but we will still hike for 3 hours uphill to see the amazing view of Charpate Himal Glacier. Renowned as the holy place for Sherpa's, it is worshipped by many and we will view the stunning peak of Mera north and trace our way back to Tangnang.
We will trail up towards Mera Base Camp at Khare from Tangnang. On the way to Dig Glacier and through Dig Kharka, the route is paved with a mass of rocks and sediment carried down and deposited by a glacier and climb the moraines. We will be camping at Khare and prepare our gears as we will be elevating to higher altitudes tomorrow.
Mera Base camp is a 4-5 hours walk from Khare. On the way, we will be enjoying the astounding view of natural landscape formed in the beds of himalayas. Walking through this jaw-breaking beauty of nature we will cross-over steep trails and reach Base Camp. We will set the rest of the day for exploration.
Early in the morning after having our morning breakfast we will start elevating further higher toward High camp. After walking for two hours in the rocky pavements we will reach the top of the hill and reach the high camp. It will be a rocky trail and snow can make it hazardous as there are numbers of rifts all along the way. As we elevate up and reach high camp. lavious views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, the south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse will make you awe-struck
Today is one of the most important days of our trip and we will be starting our day early at around 2 in the morning for breakfast. It will be a cold morning with and as we walk to trail up, it will start getting warmer as we reach the glacier and a peculiar ridge. As the glowing red shine of the sun hit the peaks, we bet your heart starts carnivalling. It will still be a non-technical slow climb into the steep slope with thin air. We will step into the foot and prepare our gear after hearing from the climbing leader and climb the summit. The mighty Himalayan Summit (Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) and others) and its crest will amaze you its beauty and strength. We will retrace our way back to High camp and Khare taking breaks all along the way.
We trek from Khare to Kothe along the same trail used previously. After reaching Kothe, we celebrate our success by trying out local delicacies and wines.
Same as before, we will head opposite and walk down to Thuli Kharka from Kothe. stay overnight at Thuli Kharka.
After getting back from Thuli Kharka to Lukla, we will spend the most recent night on the Himalayas might be throwing up the party with crewmember as porter will remain there in Lukla. Lots of pubs are organizing parties along with snooker, free Wi-Fi in Lukla, get into one and grab some beer.
After enjoying and celebrating and praising the goodbye with porter, we will fly back to Kathmandu and return to the hotel in Thamel. Refreshing ourselves, we will give some unwind to our body. At night, we will have farewell dinner along with feedback with entire NEST ADVENTURE groups and the cultural show during dinner.
